Wellness Tips

As always I hope that you and your loved ones are healthy. Although I have not been seeing patients in person since March 14th, I truly have enjoyed speaking with patients over the phone or via face time, Zoom, or Go To Meeting. It has been so important to me to still be able connect and help those who need it right now, please let me know if you need to check in with me. I look forward to the day that the office doors are open again!

I have had a few patients ask me what I have been doing to help my mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health during this stressful time. I will be happy to share a few of my tips with you.

I am a morning person, I enjoy the early hours when it is quiet in my house. During that time I may get up do yoga or exercise. I do want to know what is going on in the world but I limit my internet time to check a few of my favorite health related trusted websites and then I stop and move on. I may listen to OPB or NPR on my way home from the office but that is limited as well. It is easy to get sucked into hours of internet time and I encourage you to limit screen time.

With all of the day to day changes, I have had to spend much more time listening to webinars about changes in healthcare and business. In order to combat the ” Quarantine 15″ pound weight gain, I often listen to those webinars while I am exercising.

I also make this “soup” if I feel as if I am getting sick. Normally I make this only as needed but during this time I have been trying to make it once a week in order to feed my immune system. I would like to share the recipe with you. It has a lot of Vitamin C and sinus support.

IMMUNE SOUP
2 cups organic tomato juice, 1 cup Organic lemon juice, 1 Tablespoon garlic, 1 Tablespoon horse radish, 1 Tablespoon freshly grated ginger root, a splash or 2 of hot sauce.
Mix all ingredients together, heat and eat. I usually do not measure the ingredients exactly and you can adjust to taste.

As always we can be reached for questions, scheduling Telemedicine appointments, or to purchase supplements at 541-385-0775.

Take care.

Sincerely,

Michelle K Jackson
