Seasonal Allergies

I hope that you are all doing well and staying safe, healthy and sane. 🙂

I will be glad to see the sunshine and warmer weather this week. But with the warmer weather, some people begin to suffer from seasonal allergy symptoms. These include: Itchy watery eyes, nasal congestion, post nasal drip, headache, cough, sore throat, trouble breathing and even a slight fever. Unfortunately these symptoms can also over lap with viral symptoms. If you begin to have these symptoms, first ask yourself, have you suffered from Springtime allergies in past years? If the answer is yes, then these symptoms are probably due to allergies. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to call my office to schedule a phone or telemedicine appointment to discuss your concerns.

There are some supplements that I often recommend for those who suffer from allergies, all of the following have been shown to help dampen the body’s overactive histamine response to allergens. They include Vitamin C, Zinc, Bromelain, Butterburr, NAC among others. Depending upon your symptoms we may have to come up with a personalized tailored treatment plan for you.

During allergy season it is also an excellent time to clean up your diet and even do a cleanse. If your diet includes inflammatory foods, then your inflammation system is already active and you may be even more reactive to pollens. It may be a good time to follow an anti histamine diet, test for personal food allergies (we can drop ship the test), or to perform a personalized cleanse.

As always stay safe and well. Feel free to call the office at 541-385-0775.
Sincerely,

Michelle K Jackson
